A catalyst made in situ from the (cyclooctadiene)iridium chloride dimer, [Ir(COD)Cl]2, and the monodentate phosphoramidite ligand (S)-PipPhos was used in the enantioselective hydrogenation of 2- and 2,6-substituted quinoxalines.
