Bis(neopentyl glycolato)diboron (1.42 mg, 6.30 mmol) and potassium acetate (823 mg, 8.40 mmol) were added to a solution of 7-bromo-1-methylquinoxalin-2(1H)-one (1.0 g, 4.2 mmol) in 1,4-dioxane (15 mL). The reaction mixture was degassed under nitrogen for 30 min before Pd(dppf)Cl2.DCM (171 mg, 0.21 mmol) was added. The reaction mixture was heated at 80 C. for 3 h. After this time the reaction mixture was concentrated under reduced pressure and purified by silica gel column chromatography eluting with 30% EtOAc in iso-hexane to afford an orange solid.
