Brzezinski, Bogumil; Zundel, Georg published the article 《Proton polarizability of intramolecular hydrogen bonds with molecules nonconjugated and conjugated between donor and acceptor groups》. Keywords: proton polarizability hydrogen bond; IR proton polarizability conjugation; NMR proton polarizability conjugation. They researched the compound: 8-Hydroxyquinoline 1-oxide( cas:1127-45-3 ).Application of 1127-45-3. Aromatic heterocyclic compounds can be divided into two categories: single heterocyclic and fused heterocyclic. In addition, there is a lot of other information about this compound (cas:1127-45-3) here.
IR and NMR spectroscopy was used to study proton polarizability in compounds [o-RC6H4CO2H, R = Me2NCH2 or Me2N; I, R1 = CH2OH or OH; and II] with intramol. H bonds. When the H-bond donor and acceptor groups are not electronically conjugated, IR continua indicate a large proton polarizability. When they are conjugated the continua are very weak. Thus, not only the proton potential but also the dependence of the dipole moment on the vibrational coordinate is decisive for occurrence of the continua.
Although many compounds look similar to this compound(1127-45-3)Application of 1127-45-3, numerous studies have shown that this compound(SMILES:OC1=CC=CC2=CC=C[N+]([O-])=C12), has unique advantages. If you want to know more about similar compounds, you can read my other articles.
